The mission of In the Name of the Mother is to provide financial aid to single mothers diagnosed with cancer. The group's efforts are founded on the principle that no mother undergoing cancer treatment should have to worry about how to keep food on her family's table or how to keep her children safe and cared for. What We Do Administered through Catholic Charities Family Center of Montgomery County, In the Name of the Mother assists single mothers diagnosed with cancer by providing financial assistance for: Rent Utilities Housecleaning Medical needs Food Wigs and special clothes Over the past four years, the charity has raised more than $200,000 in donations. These fund's have been distributed to more than 40 families throughout Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC.
